We are proud to announce that two members of Ingrid’s Laboratory—Dr. Ayooluwa Gabriel Ibiayo (postdoctoral fellow) and Adjunct Assistant Professor Peeraporn Varinthra (postdoctoral fellow)—have been selected as recipients of the KSBNS IBRO Travel Awards 2025. This highly competitive award supports promising young neuroscientists to present their work and engage with the international neuroscience community.

The award enabled them to attend the Korean Society for Brain and Neural Sciences (KSBNS) Annual Meeting 2025, held in Incheon, South Korea (August 24–27, 2025). During the conference, both researchers delivered oral and poster presentations showcasing our lab’s cutting-edge research on:

  • Sleep and neuroprotection – exploring how sleep influences brain health and resilience against neurodegeneration.

  • Molecular mechanisms in neurodegenerative diseases – highlighting pathways involved in neuronal survival and degeneration.

  • Natural product interventions – investigating plant-derived compounds as potential therapeutic strategies.

Their presentations generated strong interest and sparked valuable discussions with leading neuroscientists from across Asia-Pacific and beyond. The recognition not only affirms the quality and originality of our lab’s research but also expands our international visibility and strengthens our collaborative network.

We extend our warm congratulations to Dr. Ibiayo and Dr. Varinthra for this well-deserved recognition. We also thank IBRO and KSBNS for supporting the professional development of young neuroscientists and fostering opportunities for knowledge exchange.

As our lab continues to grow, we are committed to advancing neuroscience research with global impact, and we look forward to building on the collaborations and insights gained through this conference.
